10 Tips for a Better Night's Sleep.
Who does not enjoy waking up after a good night's sleep feeling rested, rejuvenated and ready for the day? Well, here are 10 strategies to help you achieve exactely this.
1. Set a standard bed-time and waking time and keep to it.
2. Create a sleep environment that is quiet, dark and cool.
3. Avoid a heavy meal before bed-time.
4. Avoid alcohol or caffeine before bed-time.
5. Try to do something relaxing about an hour before bed, e.g. taking a hot bath, listening to relaxing music, or meditating. Make this part of your regular routine.
6. Be careful about exercising too late.
7. Reserve the bedroom for sleep and sex, so no television watching or video games!
8. Avoid taking naps during the day.
9. Wait until you are sleepy before going to bed.
10. If you can't fall asleep, stop trying, get out of bed and do something that will relax you. Sometimes the harder you try, the more difficult it becomes, so let it go.
